"Fitting In" and Fake People

mood: annoyed annoyed
music: morning glory- anti-life is the antidote

a frequently discussed topic among my friends.
they're always going on about how it's "s0o0o0o0o not cool to try to be cool and you should just be yourself"

i mean, we're all human. we all have the need to love and be loved. so what's wrong with getting people to like you? if you change yourself to impress a crowd... yes, you are fake. but if you want to fit in to that crowd because that's what will make you happy, or if you truly want to be like them, then why not?

just because some people aren't content with themselves doesn't mean we have to poke fun at them and call then posuers, frauds, and wannabes.

sometimes i think my friends try too hard by talking crap about other people being fake, that it doesn't make them any better. why don't we all just shutup and let everyone do what they want?
